This was a special gift from one friend to another as a tribute to her loved pups. This piece combines one of my favorite color combinations, alfred blue and gold and my very fav. checkerboard pattern with a 'pawed' vessel. I love this piece. She did too!!
This is the treat jar I made for Leonard- the Standard Parti Poodle. It looks just like him! He thinks so too.... he's smiling!!
This little Swissridge goldendoodle is brimming with enthusiasm for life. Her treat jar is a tribute to her life force and the love of her humans for her. Lucky Braidie!
Maddie was a beautiful golden retriever, owned by Lisa from Chicago, who absolutely adored her. Lisa asked me to make a special keepsake for Maddie. We talked about different ideas, and she sent me a picture of Maddie sitting in a window perch, looking out the window....one of Maddie's favourite things to do. The picture became the inspiration for this piece. Meant to be viewed from the back, this piece now sits in the window perch. One of my favorites!
Meet Ollie, Lynn's adored chihuahua mix from LA. Lynn rescued Ollie several years back and immediately, he became her sweetie! This is a jewelry holder keepsake which was gifted to Lynn as a birthday gift from a dear friend. Great for keeping rings and bracelets at the end of the day.
These 'sisters' are inseparable. Their human wanted a jar that depicted their love for each other... on their favorite carpet.
Here are the girls close up. The little one is still a puppy! <3
ALmost ready to go on their special treat jars, these Boston Terrier Sculptures are pretty sweet.
These dogs and their overflowing toys were part of a special tribute jar created as a treat jar keepsake. All of the toys are made of ceramic (as are the dog sculptures). Fun!
This holiday tree ornament was made for Sandra- Otto's 'mom'. For ornaments I often use an air dry, lightweight clay material that can be painted and covered with a clear protective coating. Works wonderfully for tree ornaments as well as stand alone figurines and is much quicker to finish (no firing needed). :-)
Michael and Lucas' little guy Das is so adorable!! Michael wanted a special keepsake for Das, and asked for something very simple, capturing his favorite way of sitting, one paw folded under, the other stretched out.......on his favorite rug. The rug and sculpture lid lift up to hold Das' treats!
Custom golden doodle and bernedoodle sculptures, waiting to be added to their custom dog treat jars! Custom dog sculptures are made separately from the jars, and I apply finishing touches before they are affixed to the jars. These guys were just too cute not to put them together for a little photo op. (these doodles are all from SwissRidge Kennels :-) )
Kate is a beautiful chocolate lab from Oakville, Ontario. Her mom wanted a special custom dog treat jar as a tribute to her sweet girl. Decorated with a stripes, dots and a large swirly bone, Kate's jar is now a loved custom keepsake. Stands about 9" tall including the lid..... just the right size for big treats.
This is Jake, with his custom dog treat jar. You may be wondering why Jake is dressed like a baker..... he is the mascot for The Lovin Oven Bakery out of Germantown, WI where Jake's mom Gayle bakes dog treats for shelters and lucky dogs.
Jake the Baker- closeup Jake is Gayle's beautful Sheltie and mascot for her Lovin Oven Bakery. Jake was a rescue and brings smiles to people in her community as she does her wonderful work!
One of the cutest breeds around is the Bernedoodle. These precious pups come from SwissRidge Kennels. Their mom Karen (from Elgin, Ill) asked me to create a custom treat jar keepsake for both of her dogs along with a few of their favorite toys. (I've created dog treat jars with as many as 3 dogs on the lid :-) ). I loved making this piece and Karen loved her special keepsake. (about 5" across and 10" high including the lid).
Shades was an adorable little puppy when this keepsake was made. She loved (and I'm sure still does) going to the beach and playing in the water along with her favorite treats and toys. That was the inspiration for this fun custom dog treat jar.
Delilah is my adorable GoldenDoodle. She LOVES balls and lives for playing, running, jumping and chasing after balls. Needless to say, she loves the treats inside the jar almost as much!!
Meet Zoey - a lovely German Shepherd from NJ. This custom dog keepsake treat jar was designed to show Zoey, in her happy place, outdoors, relaxing. Made using high fire speckled clay, in a traditional cookie jar shape, this jar is about 5.5" wide and stands about 9" tall.
